Then we went to the study room of the blind students where we saw the blind students reading by using Braille sheet mainly by touching them. We also visited some other rooms, where other students were performing other works which include mechanical engineering, poultry farming, furniture making and tailoring.
The students of ERCPH are so much well-trained in their respective fields that nobody can distinguish them form us. Among those students, many of them were using artificial limbs. On the other hand, some students who got problem in hearing use Hearing Aid. There is also sufficient arrangement of wheel chairs for some of students for whom walking is more than a dream.
The most important things is that all the equipment that is supplied to the disabled students and other patents from different parts of the country are made in the center itself. The equipments produced there are internationally recognized and are supplied to the patients at a very low cost only and most of the time they are given free. The students are also engaged in many extra curricular activities. For self-employment of the trainees they also arrange loan of 4000 taka, by which they can earn their living.
After visiting all these things, when I looked outside the window to the sky, we saw the rain had stopped and the sun was shining brightly indicating that our departing time had arrived. But my mind was not ready to depart from there by leaving our fellow brothers having their dream in their mind to touch the paradise. Many people think that disabled people are the burdens of our country. But they don’t know that only some special care and proper guidance can change their life standard and can turn them into an immense resource of our country. Moreover, if the society comes forward to them, these people can upgraded from disable persons to dignified ones.
Before departing, we requested them to sing a song. They complied with our request and performed a melodious patriotic song, which still hums in my ear. At that time I was just thinking and praying to God that may the gentle breeze merely of Him blows as if the gentle rain shaded with the breeze of pink Orchid from the heaven upon the dreams of paradise.
At last we can say that, a training can change a behavior.
